Carvings - Fossilized Ivory

Unearthed by indigenous Inuit people during the brief Arctic summer, prehistoric fossilized mammoth or walrus tusk ranges from 2,000 to 50,000 years old. It collected from St. Lawrence Island (located west of mainland Alaska in the Bering Sea), just south of the Bering Strait. The collected pieces are then intricately hand-carved by accomplished artisans in Indonesia.
