Since opening its doors in Faneuil Hall Marketplace in 1982, Claudio’s vision for Geoclassics had been to offer the very finest natural treasures in a museum-like setting where customers could marvel at their beauty, learn about the science and history of their formation, and take home their very own piece of nature. Claudio searched the world to find his treasures. He adored the people he met in this unique industry and his love for gems, minerals and fossils was evident in his selection of merchandise, the care taken in its presentation, and the enthusiasm he showed when talking to his customers. His passion was infectious and spilled over to his employees and customers alike. He was so very appreciative of his customers and never tired of hearing from customers how beautiful his store was, or how nice it was to know that his unique local store remained open for business year after year. Sadly, Claudio Kraus passed away in September of 2019 and after 37 years of business, Geoclassics closed its doors for good on 9/27/19.

Geoclassics will now continue on as an online shop with the same love, passion, and appreciation for nature and all its wondrous, unique, and amazing treasures!
