Butterfly and Moth Wing Jewelry

This jewelry preserves rare, beautiful, and fragile butterfly and moth wings in thin panes of glass and silver (925 sterling silver and 950 silver). The wings are provided by licensed butterfly farms and comply with CITES regulations and protecting endangered species. CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) is an international agreement between governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival. Butterfly farming provides an alternative livelihood for local indigenous people from Rainforested areas who can work to protect their natural habitat. This jewelry is handmade in Peru. It is durable and the colors will remain vibrant so long as you avoid exposure to moisture – this includes lotions and perfumes.
