Labradorite / Spectrolite
LABRADORITE, a “cousin” of moonstone, is a sodium rich, plagioclase feldspar, in the family of silicates. Named for its original source in Labrador, Canada, it also comes Madagascar, Africa, and also from Finland (where it is called SPECTROLITE…Because spectrolite tends to have a deeper, richer color and a full spectrum of rainbow colors, it is regarded by gemologists as the most beautiful labradorite in the world!). Its color is smoky grey, but when light strikes it in a particular direction it displays a rainbow of reflections in violet, blue, green, yellow, orange or red. This quality is known as Labradorescence. Labradorite is a mystical stone which can be used to accelerate telepathic abilities. It can enhance the clarity of dreams, reawaken ancient memories, and call forth future visions.
