Geoclassics is dedicated to customer satisfaction. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your purchase, you may return your item in accordance with our Return and Exchange Policy.

Jewelry items are guaranteed against defects in materials or manufacturing for 30 days from date of purchase. For damages or defects that exceed the 30 day limit, Geoclassics will make every effort to repair or replace the item at the lowest cost to the customer; please refer to our Repair Policy (below).

Return and Exchange Policy: Jewelry

  • Returns and exchanges are permitted up to 10 days from delivery date
  • Jewelry must be in its original condition and show no signs of wear
  • Returns or exchanges are not allowed on customized jewelry, special orders, or items that have been altered
  • Credit card refunds will be issued to the original purchaser on the account to which the item was charged
  • After 10 days, a 10% re-stocking fee may be charged at the discretion of Geoclassics

Return and Exchange Policy: Minerals, Fossils, and Artifacts

  • Returns and exchanges are permitted up to 10 days from delivery date
  • Items must be returned in their original condition along with any information provided, display stands, and accessories
  • Credit card refunds will be issued to the original purchaser on the account to which the item was charged
  • After 10 days, a 10% re-stocking fee may be charged at the discretion of Geoclassics

Returns by Mail

  • Please contact us by email for return authorization. Packages returned without authorization will not be accepted.
  • Please re-package the item securely using the original packaging, if possible. Enclose the original or a copy of the packing slip if available. If you do not have your original packing slip, please provide us with your name, address, phone number, and email address.
  • All return shipping charges must be prepaid. We cannot accept C.O.D. deliveries.
  • For your protection, we recommend that you use a shipping method that provides insurance and tracking services from providers such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS for your return

  • Keep the tracking number from the package you are returning to verify delivery
  • Refunds will be issued within 10 days of return delivery, and will be credited to the same form of payment used in your original purchase
  • For items damaged during shipping, email us or call our Boston store at 617-523-6112 for assistance and instructions

Returns to the Geoclassics Store

  1. Please contact us by email for return authorization. Packages returned without authorization will not be accepted.
  2. Place the item securely in the original package
  3. Enclose the original packing slip with the item. If you no longer have the packing slip, bring a copy of your shipment confirmation email or online purchase receipt displayed during checkout.
  4. All products must be returned in their original condition, in original boxes if available, and with paperwork (such as a certificate) and accessories to ensure a full credit
  5. Take the package to the Geoclassics store at 7 North Market, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston, MA
  6. Please include a printed Return Authorization form or provide an email verification of authorization
  7. A sales associate will process your return. Refund will be credited to the same form of payment in your original purchase. Please allow 30 days for the credit to appear on your billing statement. Please note that your original shipping and handling or other additional costs will not be refunded unless you received a damage, defective, or incorrect item.

Holiday Return Policy: Store Credit Only

  • All holiday gifts (purchases made after November 24th) must be returned or exchanged by January 15th
  • Purchases made before November 24th are subject to our general return policy guidelines
  • Please contact us by email for return authorization. Packages returned without authorization will not be accepted.
  • Items must be returned in their original condition and show no signs of wear
  • Please refer to general return policy guidelines for return instructions

Repair Policy: Jewelry

  • We will repair only items purchased at Geoclassics
  • All repair items are subject to review by our Repair Department. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to you.
  • Jewelry is guaranteed for 30 days from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturer defects only. Our guarantee does not protect against excessive wear, abuse, accident, or loss.
  • For items in need of repair for reasons other than manufacturer defects, a repair fee will be charged
  • The minimum charge for any repair is estimated at $15.00. If it is more, we will contact you for approval before we proceed. If it is less, we will adjust the charge to reflect the lower cost.
  • Customers are responsible for all shipping fees. All return shipping charges must be prepaid. We cannot accept C.O.D. deliveries.
  • We guarantee that we will provide the best quality of work at the most reasonable price we can offer

Ring Sizing Policy

  • Most 14K and 18K gold rings and many sterling silver rings can be sized by a qualified jeweler
  • We recommend increasing or decreasing the size by a maximum of two sizes up or down
  • Please email us with questions regarding sizing
  • Sizing may alter the appearance of the band slightly
  • If you choose to have a ring sized before shipment, please allow an additional 7 to 14 days before shipment
  • Rings that have been sized may not be returned
  • The cost of sizing is $25.00

Jewelry Care Guidelines

GEMSTONE CARE

  • Many semiprecious stones are soft minerals which may be sensitive to over exposure to water, cosmetics, cleaners, chlorine bleach, and other chemical solutions.
  • Sterling silver and gemstone jewelry: to maintain the original luster of the stones, we recommend rubbing with a jeweler's polishing cloth. If the silver is still tarnished, apply a mild soap and water solution with a soft brush and towel dry.
  • If using a silver cream or anti-tarnish polish to clean silver, such as Wright's Silver Cream:
  1. Wet jewelry with warm water
  2. Apply cream/polish with sponge or soft cloth
  3. Rinse thoroughly with warm water
  4. Dry with soft cloth and buff with a polishing cloth
  5. Organic or porous gems such as pearls, amber, coral, or turquoise should avoid prolonged exposure to creams and polishes, and should be rinsed thoroughly
  • Vermeille (gold-plated sterling silver) or other gold plated jewelry (plated over base metals, often brass):
  1. The high karat content of the gold, from 18K to 24K, produces a color richer than 14K. The gold plating process is commonly used around the world.
  2. Wash with mild soap and water and dry with a soft towel
  3. To preserve the gold layer on your jewelry, immersion in water with soap, detergent, chlorine, or other chemical agents, other than for the occasional cleaning, is not recommended
