Labradorite, a ‘cousin’ of moonstone, is a sodium rich, plagioclase feldspar in the family of silicates. Named for its original source in Labrador, Canada, it also comes from Finland (where it is called Spectrolite) and Madagascar, Africa. Its color is smoky gray, but when light strikes it in a particular direction, it displays a rainbow of reflections in violet, blue, green, yellow, orange or red. This quality is known as labradorescence. Labradorite is a mystical stone which can be used to accelerate telepathic abilities. It may be used to enhance the clarity of dreams, reawaken ancient memories, and call forth future visions.
