Variscite

VARISCITE is a hydrous aluminum phosphate mineral with a hardness of 4 to 5. It occurs in varying shades of green, and grows mainly as massive, rather than crystalline, structures. It can also form as crusts or in veins where phosphate rich water has altered rocks with a high aluminum content. Variscite, believed to have soothing qualities, is used for bringing peace to the heart and tranquility to the mind. Because of this, it can be an excellent stone for those who feel “stressed out”. Variscite is found in Utah (where it is also called Utahlite), Nevada, and Queensland, Australia.
