Dendritic Agate

DENDRITIC AGATE is a translucent, colorless to whitish-gray variety of chalcedony quartz, easily distinguished by its distinct, strikingly realistic bush, fern, or tree-like inclusions known as ‘dendrites’. These inclusions, usually black or brown, are caused by manganese, iron oxide, and hydroxide impurities, which are seen clearly in a light gray or clear background. The most notable deposits are found in Brazil, China, India, Australia, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Mexico, Mongolia, Namibia, Uruguay and the USA.
Dendritic agate is believed to aid in understanding nature, and is associated with the protection of the earth, prosperity, abundance, healing, restoration and creativity. It is also said to help improve one’s self esteem and emotional balance, and also help start new friendships.
